Commercial Lines Underwriter

Commercial Underwriter Duties:

• Use knowledge of insurance practices and regulations to determine risks, evaluate claims, and recommend premium rates
• Research and evaluate coverage and claims, determining risk exposures and proposing terms
• Evaluate risk exposures by reviewing documentation, statements from third parties, and discussions with brokers and clients
• Provide recommendations and negotiate terms for policies
• Commercial Underwriter Responsibilities:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent college degree
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial underwriting role
• Knowledge of evaluating and underwriting commercial risks; ability to review and assess each risk
• Knowledge of commercial insurance terminology and processes
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated

Competitive salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
