Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works proactively to build relationships with carrier and client contacts; may participate in meetings.
  • Maintain agency digital files (EPIC) accurately, with consistent documentation of calls, emails, and other notes and attachments, following all agency and carrier procedures.
  • Provide service to existing clients related to updating policies, providing quotes, taking payments, answering questions, cross-selling, and providing documentation.
  • Set appointments and/or client calls or support a producer to review existing policies, review liability limits and exposures, explore other coverage needs, evaluate replacement costs, round out accounts, and bind renewals.
  • Prepare and send requests for proposals to relevant insurance carriers, as well as spreadsheet results as they arrive. Participate in the creation of the renewal presentation's first draft.
  • Review audits or policies; verify accuracy and facilitate corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
  • Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, provide expertise and answer questions, and participate in formal and informal meetings as needed.
  • Drives the overall strategic vision for new and existing businesses through collaboration with the Personal Lines team.
  • Resolve product or service issues by clarifying the customer's concern, determining the cause of the issue, selecting, and explaining the best solution to solve the issue, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Facilitate claims reporting between customers and carriers, ensuring accurate and complete documentation in agency records.
  • Responsible for answering all billing questions from clients and insurance company personnel, with assistance from the Accounting Department as needed.
  • Process FR19, SR22, and mortgagee changes.

Qualifications

  • Associate, degree (or equivalent), and BA/BS or HS Diploma required.
  • P&C Insurance License required.
  • At least 3 years of Personal Lines experience as an Account Manager
  • Highly organized with strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to handle situations calmly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Experience using carrier websites to market and rate new/renewal business, such as Travelers, Erie, Safeco, Nationwide, and Progressive a plus.
