Large Group Health Underwriting Analyst - Self Funded

About the Role

Program administrator and insurance provider to non-profit and social service agencies seeks a Large Group Health Underwriting Analyst experienced with self-funded groups.

Will monitor and analyze new benefit trends and their implications. Make recommendations based on self-funded analysis to clients. Provides technical expertise related to large group employee benefits financial or program analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides Self-Funded Underwriting and Financial Services for clients
• Prepares Executive Summaries and Renewal Forecasts as part of the financial review process
• Provides renewal analysis for 100+ life clients to assist Producers/Staff with obtaining the best possible rates in the most efficient manner
• Supports monthly stop-loss filing and reporting
• Maintains data-mining database, assists in overseeing projects related to data mining
• Develops Excel spreadsheets for Underwriting projects and processes including, but not limited to, renewal forecasting
• Conducts benefit plan analysis and evaluates services and benefits in coordination with Producers and Account Executives
• Prepares analysis of clients’ current insurance plans and models historic, current, and projected future financial impacts of various benefit plan options and choices

Skills & Experience

• Analytical with strong math aptitude
• 3+ years of experience working with self-funded groups
• 5+ years of experience as an underwriter, underwriting analyst, actuarial, or similar role working with large group medical insurance
• Demonstrated client service experience with strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Compensation

$90,000 to $100,000
