JOB SUMMARY
The Release Delivery Manager ensures the regular delivery of projects and products in accordance with the VM software delivery lifecycle and Agile methodologies. Forward plan the release windows and cycles across the portfolio of projects by managing risks and resolving issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality. Uphold morale and team performance in challenging circumstances.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Dress Rehearsals, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
- Maintains a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
- Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
- Work with technical leads to understand impacts of branches and code merges as well as collaborate with QA Testing team to ensure that the release transitions to production with zero to minimal defects.
- Lead a cross-disciplinary team to co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists.
- Work with Release Train Engineer, Development Manager, QA Manager, Scrum Masters and other senior IT staff members, managing risks and resolving issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
- Measure and monitor dress rehearsal cycle times, release cycle times, patch cycle times and continuously be looking for improvements.
- Develop and provide monthly release reporting on measures around key performance indicators such as errors, mean time to repair and downtime.
- Accountable for change management requirements including capturing and stowing of artifacts of the approval process for production applications.
- GW Salesforce ticket management (monthly GW requests, system availability ticket management, release support & ensuring signoff)
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Functional and administrative supervision of 1-3 Information technology resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other appropriate discipline, and 5 to 7 years of relevant data processing, programming and systems analysis/design experience, systems operations, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Broad base of advanced knowledge and skills in agile, DEVOPS and SAFe practices.
- Strong coaching (individuals, the team and people outside of the team), diplomacy, leadership (including servant leadership), communication and facilitation.
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of company personnel, including senior management, as well as outside vendors and consultants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.
- Off-hour and weekend work will be required.
