The Commercial Lines Account Manager provides direction for FUSA’s retail producers in the submission of complete and professional applications while providing risk selection, evaluation, and pricing on quotes for admitted and surplus lines carriers. The Account Manager is the producers first point of contact when placing commercial lines insurance and assisting in the processing of renewals and servicing their accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Entering client account information with accuracy into our agency management system
  • Review all submissions for accuracy, the need for additional information, and supplemental applications
  • Determine the correct Market(s) to quote accounts with and provide quotes in a timely fashion
  • Assist and provide direction to our Agents for questions they may have regarding their accounts and/or insurance coverages
  • Manage assigned “book of business” through annual review of expiration lists
  • Daily servicing of existing accounts
  •  Provide professional personal service to our Agents and help in meeting FUSA Insurance Agency’s premium and profit goals.
  • Attend company functions and participate in meetings with company sales representatives.
  • Make annual visits to our retail agents offices to build relationships and to enable you know their individual business needs
  • Ability to respond and adapt to changing environments
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to interact with staff and agents (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
  • High level of professionalism and friendliness is crucial to this role
  • Expert level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • May be asked to work overtime as necessary

 

Education And/or Experience:

  • Hold the insurance license required by your state and have a minimum of two years commercial lines insurance account management experience, as well as a bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business and maintain existing client base.
  • Be people-oriented, customer-focused, and professionally assertive in developing relationships with the FUSA retail Producers.
  • Possess outstanding organizational skills with an ability to complete difficult assignments without supervision, sound business judgment, strong decision-making and superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent time management skills, thrive in a team environment and Technology and Computer proficiency including agency management systems.
  • Industry designations such as CISR, CIC, AFIS is highly desired

Job Type: Full-time, Starting Pay: $59,000.00 & up annually depending on experience level

The Account Manager position offers working 3 days in office and 2 days remote.
