Job Summary

This position is located in Webster, MA with a Hybrid work schedule of in the office and work from home. 

Maintains and controls the timely handling of complex first party property losses. This is a multi-state position which will require developing a proficiency in interpreting, understanding and applying multiple policies and multi-jurisdictional claim handling requirements. Communicates effectively through oral and written means, operates a calculator to solve structural damage estimating problems, maintains an open alphabetical file system, interprets applicable policy coverages, applies technical knowledge to the most complex matters, makes prompt and accurate decisions, provides guidelines to our independent adjusters, organizes and prioritizes multiple tasks, monitors reserves, and negotiates effectively with independent adjusters, insureds, agents, public adjusters, and attorneys.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.
Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Applies them to perform or lead work requiring extensive analytical business skills.
Decision Making: Makes decisions using broad management limits. Applies guidelines and procedures that leave considerable room for discretion and interpretation. Decisions directly influence project, client relationships and or expenditures. Additionally, decisions exert some influence on organization's long-range goals and objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignments.
Supervision Received: Works independently under general supervision. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy in meeting objectives.
Leadership: Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed. Takes a lead role in group, team or project.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to determine solutions to complex problems with minimal direction. Uses research and analysis to develop innovative and practical solutions which are consistent with organizational objectives.
Client Contacts: Manages internal and external relationships. Represents organization as prime contact for projects and other necessary communications. Interaction may include senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring complex coordination between organizations. Communication involves persuasion and negotiation, as applicable. Seeks ways of improving client service.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum 4 years experience property adjusting experience or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6-8 years. In addition to knowledge of structural damages, replacement costs, repair assessments, and be familiar with fraud and arson investigations.
Insurance course work strongly preferred. INS 21, 22, 23 preferred.
Must be proficient with insurance/construction mathematical formulas, and estimating software.
Skills should include: CRT/PC skills, specifically accurate keyboarding skills on Personal Computer including the ability to navigate and process data.
Demonstrated experience with Claim Works, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Excel and Internet Navigation.
Power Point experience a plus.
Attendance at a nationally certified or company sponsored property program in personal dwelling and commercial damage estimating is preferred.
Working extended hours and weekends are required during severe storm volume situations.
