Great Plains Casualty is a niche provider of commercial truck insurance products designed exclusively for the needs of independent owner-operators. Financially stable, with an A- rating from A.M. Best, GPC is a small but well-capitalized commercial property and casualty insurance carrier that seeks an Operations Director to improve its operations in order to pursue expansion opportunities. Duties & Responsibilities

Your role as Operations Director focuses on all operational aspects of the existing business which is concentrated in commercial auto/transportation programs.

• Manage a small team of operations employees covering claims, policy administration, customer service and financial management
• Oversee regulatory compliance, new/revised form & rate filings and reporting
• Design, implement and improve operational processes and system transformation to create a scalable platform
• Support leadership with the evaluation of profitable business expansion opportunities, both with existing affiliates and third parties

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of diverse commercial property and casualty insurance operations experience
• Some underwriting experience with the ability to support the evaluation of new business opportunities
• Hands on, adaptable and resourceful leadership skill set suited for a small company environment
• Ambitious and entrepreneurial with career goals to play a lead role in a company’s growth
• Change agent for operational improvements
• Diligent and detail oriented

Compensation & Benefits

• $150k-$200k target first year compensation
• This position is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; relocation package available
