Job Summary
In this position the individual will be trained in the handling of first party structural and contents losses. This is a multi-state position which will require developing a proficiency in interpreting, understanding and applying multiple policies and multi-jurisdictional claim handling requirements. Communicates effectively through oral and written means; operates a telephone, PC, and operates estimating software to solve structural damage estimating problems; maintains an automated diary system and is fluent in estimating software; provides notes indicating the current status of files; interprets applicable policies and endorsements; applies technical knowledge to assigned losses; makes prompt and accurate technical decisions, and prioritizes multiple tasks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Associates Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: Minimum one year of Contact Center Claim Services, Subrogation and/or Physical Damage Adjusting experience or Associates Degree equivalent plus 2-4 years’ experience required.
Knowledge: Limited to moderate knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Learns to apply them to the job.
Decision Making: Learns to make decisions and recommendations for varied situations, applying judgment to interpret related information, policies, and procedures. Decisions generally impact specific tasks.
Supervision Received: Works independently under general supervision. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy in performing tasks.
Leadership: Works as an individual contributor. Learns the job.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Develops solutions to a variety of problems, typically of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to and interprets policies and practices for guidance.
Client Contacts: Contacts other departments and or external organizations or parties frequently. Contacts are primarily at or below upper management levels. Represents organization on specific projects. Communication may involve persuasion, and negotiation.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Property Homeowner policies, basic construction and completion of A.I.C. 35 a plus.
Strong organizational, analytical and decision making skills.
PC skills preferred, familiarity with Lotus Notes, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel a plus.
Basic math skills necessary.
General skills should include: basic CRT/PC skills, specifically accurate keyboarding skills on Personal Computer including ability to navigate and process data, plus basic math, English, verbal & written communication skills. Familiarity with Team Call Handling, and Homeowner policies a plus.
The individual should possess strong business and other decision making skills as well as have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, display strong planning and organizational skills, and to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working extended hours and weekends are required during severe storm volume situations.
