GL Specialty Claim Representative - Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Casualty Adjuster who is interested in joining a growing Excess and Surplus Lines Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of commercial general liability claims. File inventory typically includes some litigation and complex coverages. Other responsibilities include completing large loss claim notices, participating in department initiatives and working effectively with other departments.

Casualty Adjuster responsibilities include:

• Drafting coverage letters for management review
• Effectively manage, investigate, evaluate and negotiate a caseload of moderate to severe general liability claim files
• Claims include premises liability, assault and battery, excess/umbrella, products and completed operations, New York Labor Law, property damage and bodily injury. 
• Managing vendors involved with claim files, ie Independent Adjusters and Attorneys
• Completing Large Loss notices as required

Requirements

• General Liability experience, 5-10 years preferred
• Experience with E&S claims 
• Experience with excess GL coverage a plus
• Proficient in Word 
• Maintain high level of integrity and trustworthiness 
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Organizational and leadership skills
