Merchants Insurance Group is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast and is looking for an experienced Multi-Line Adjuster for our Bedford, New Hampshire regional office.

The candidate selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area until such time as it is determined that colleagues will return to the office.

The Multi-Line Adjuster will become part of a dedicated claims team focusing on Commercial Auto and General Liability, with some responsibility handling Auto Property Damage and Collision claims occurring in NH, MA, and VT. This position interacts extensively with home office technical managers, internal colleagues as well as policyholders, agents, attorneys, appraisers, and a multitude of claim-related service providers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Cultivating relationships with claims and other internal staff, policyholders, attorneys, agents and a variety of service providers and experts all while working towards achieving the most optimal outcomes for Merchants and our policyholders.
• The Multi-Line Adjuster will be responsible for investigating coverage, liability, and damages, as well as evaluating commercial 3^rd party casualty claims.
• Providing a high level of customer service while managing a portfolio of Commercial Auto and General Liability, with some responsibility handling Auto Property Damage and Collision claims occurring in NH, MA, and VT.
• Conducting and directing timely and quality claim investigations, evaluations and equitable settlements of all assigned claims.
• Ensuring timely and accurate reserves consistent with established reserving philosophy and practices.
• This is an inside position and limited travel is required to attend mediations and trials.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified candidates will have a 4 year degree or equivalent work related experience.
• A minimum of 3 years claims experience handling Commercial Auto and General Liability, with some responsibility handling Auto Property Damage and Collision claims.
• Prior experience in Litigation Management and evaluating Risk Transfer is a must.
• Skilled negotiator, capable of formulating strategy and action plans for files.
• Professional designations or working towards industry specific designations are a plus. 
• Must possess required State licensing in New Hampshire, Massachusetts or Vermont, or obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, desk management, communication and negotiation skills are required.
