Senior Field Homeowners Claims Adjuster We are looking for the right candidate to join our TWICO claims team.

The Senior Homeowners Field Claims Adjuster is a multi-faceted position as a homeowner claims adjuster, trainer and underwriting inspector. This position ensures claims, including large and complex claims, are properly investigated and evaluated in accordance with company standards.

Responsible for damage analysis of residential property claims which includes the ability to negotiate and complete settlements fairly and equitably with all parties. As an underwriting inspector, you will validate that insured homes meet TWICO underwriting standards and communicate any concerns to the underwriting department. As a trainer, you will train and mentor junior level claim adjusters on all aspects of the claims adjusting process. Essential Job Functions

 

· Inspect, scope, estimate, and adjust residential property claims.

· Use Symbility estimating software to produce accurate estimates of covered damage.

· Determine insurance coverage and extent of company’s liability.

· Negotiates settlements as needed with insureds, contractors, and public adjusters.

· Manages diaries and tasks in company claim management system. Effectively manage pending files in accordance with company best practices.

· Perform Homeowner’s underwriting inspections to verify application information, condition of home, identify hazards, and calculate insurance to value.

· Prepare accurate, thorough, and concise reports on conclusions and recommendations.

· Maintain thorough notes and time and expense records as required.

· Train junior level adjusters on determining coverage, scoping damage, building estimates, and communicating with policyholders, agents, contractors, public adjusters, and other parties.

Job Qualifications

· A minimum of 7 years of experience adjusting Homeowner’s or commercial property claims.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Active adjuster license in Texas.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical and Other Requirements

· Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Houston, Texas area. Must be willing to travel as needed.

· Must travel to impacted areas during major catastrophes.

· Attend litigation hearings, examinations under oath, meditations, and training as needed.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

· Employees must be able to work a minimum of 72 hours per week for catastrophe assignments. Every adjuster shall be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to operate a computer terminal/PC equipment, and inspect property claims which could include obtaining measurements of the roof and living areas, inspecting attics, basements, crawl spaces, and other claim locations as applicable (requires walking, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crawling, and lifting objects typically weighing less than 50 lbs.). Adjusters shall also be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift, carry, unfold/extend, and climb an OSHA approved ladder (which may exceed 50 lbs. in weight) for roof inspections on both residential and commercial structures. Employees are also expected to produce quality work, and exercise integrity and ethical decision-making during all work assignments.
