We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our TWICO claims team at our corporate office in The Woodlands, Texas. The Claims Manager position is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the claims department handling residential property claims. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young claims operation in a high-growth environment. Essential Job Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the The Woodlands Insurance Company (TWICO) claims department which includes managing office and field staff, assist with vendor management, process improvement, catastrophe response planning, training, system management and improvement, oversight of independent adjusting firms, etc.
  • Ensure all TWICO customers are fully indemnified for their claims through a fast, thorough, and customer-friendly process
  • Leverage emerging technology to reduce expenses, improve response times, and enhance the customer experience
  • Handle large and complex losses including total fire losses, liability claims, 1st party litigation, etc.
  • Be highly engaged in the growth and development of both internal and field staff
  • Assist the Vice President of Claims and Underwriting with setting up a scalable department structure, specializing roles, selecting vendor partners, and customizing IT platforms
  • Be a team player who collaborates with managers of other departments including accounting, underwriting, product, and IT.
  • Be prepared to enter and thrive in an agile and constantly changing environment. Adaptability and change management is key to success in this role.

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience adjusting residential or commercial property claims including at least 3 years of management experience. A background with a large insurance carrier is a plus.
  • Litigation and 3rd party experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. CPCU or AIC designations are preferred.
  • Active adjuster license in Texas. Experience adjusting claims in Louisiana is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical and Other Requirements

  • This position reports to the Vice President of Claims and Underwriting and is located in our corporate office in The Woodlands, Texas. A relocation package would be considered for the right candidate.
  • Attend litigation hearings, examinations under oath, meditations, and training as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel may be required and will depend on business needs.
  • Employees must be able to work a minimum of 72 hours per week for catastrophe assignments. Every adjuster shall be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to operate a computer terminal/PC equipment.
