We are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Financial Accountant.  As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be working under general supervision and directly with clients. This position will perform a variety of complex tasks to collect, analyze, and report statutory and GAAP financial statements.

Essential Functions

• Assists in preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with the close schedule
• Prepares monthly journal entries and adjusting entries
• Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and income accounts to the general ledger
• Maintains various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis
• Performs peer reviews and analyzes a broad range of complex accounting and fiscal activities
• Reviews inter-company transactions and generates consolidating entries
• Analyzes general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, variances to forecast, account reconciliations, and fixed asset administration
• Assists external auditors as needed
• Ensures compliance with regulatory reporting requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• CPA license preferred
• 5+ years of work experience in accounting or financial roles
• Work experience with statutory accounting in the property & casualty insurance industry preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access
