Description

Summary

Adjust claims to a successful conclusion under the direction of the Regional Claims Manager.  Must reside in the Eastern Colorado area.
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Adjust claims as assigned by the Regional Claims Manager, working the claims in person, by phone, or by email/mail as the situation requires.
  2. Determine if a loss is covered, the amount of the loss, and proper conclusion of assigned claims within a reasonable time frame.
  3. Out of state and overnight travel may be required.
  4. Conduct underwriting inspections as assigned.
  5. Exercise diligent use of diary.
  6. Perform special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

College degree preferred.  Consideration will be given to applicants with an associate's degree and a minimum five years work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry, and who have demonstrated a desire to learn through the completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses. 
 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  1. Coachable and learn from constructive criticism.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Understand the need for and the ability to submit timely reports and diligently document claim files.
  4. Strong organizational skills, including scheduling appointments with customers
  5. Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
  6. Efficient use of personal computer, mobile devices, and related software
  7. Continued pursuit of insurance education 

Cognitive Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Drivers License
  • State Specific Adjuster License as necessary
