In this role you will work on the CARE Team (Claims) where you will review and prepare different documents, evaluations and processes to support the claim process. You will works to ensure accuracy and compliance with State Auto guidelines/procedures. Working with internal and external customers to seek the desired results through technical and support work including First Notice of Loss (FNOL).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently handle the intake of claim reports via phone, website and other methods with empathy.
  • Route incoming phone calls to correct CARE associates.
  • Assign new claims to correct CARE departments/associates.  
  • Learn and apply basic claim handling skills to offer enhanced FNOL experience.
  • Comply with CARE licensing requirements.
  • May be called upon to perform additional duties as directed.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Previous office clerical experience and/or support training in school preferred.
  • Experience operating a multi-line phone system in a customer service environment preferred.
  • Minimum of a High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Licensure within 90 days of employment required. 

Communication and Collaboration Skills:

Professional oral and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position. All claims service must be handled with tact, diplomacy and courtesy at all times.

Must be able to collaborate and develop strong team relationships with associates from within and outside the CARE Team.

Problem Solving:

Gather facts and draw conclusions, interpret complex requirements/issues and work independently. The individual must be able to identify and implement key opportunities while researching potential solutions.
