Financial Planning & Analyst
This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities related to financial planning & analysis, risk based capital modeling and rating agency capital models. 

  • Prepares and analyzes pro forma financials to support planning, licensure and compliance requirements.  
  • Works closely with financial reporting and accounting department personnel, assisting where necessary to support and provide periodic plan vs. actual analysis and forecasts. 
  • Assisting the CFO and Controller in preparing board and executive management presentations. 
  • Develops, maintains and continuously looks for ways to improve and enhance financial planning and capital models and related processes and procedures.
  • Manages the day-to-day financial planning & analysis functions including, preparation of annual financial plans and reforecast
  • Updates, maintains and continuously improves the financial planning models and, risk based capital and rating agency capital models.
  • Has overall responsibility for maintain, updating, enhancing and streamlining financial plans and models.  
  • Prepares periodic UCAA pro forma financials for regulatory and compliance
  • Assists with the preparation of the annual statutory close in respect of risk based capital information. 
  • Updates and maintains internal RBC models and prepares periodic RBC forecasts to monitor capital adequacy and provide recommendations to management on approaches to maximize risk based capital levels.   

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in finance or accounting and five plus years of property & casualty related experience with demonstrated relevant financial planning/modeling experience.
  • Experience in working with P&C Risk Based Capital methodology. 
  • Good working knowledge of P&C GAAP and Statutory accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant, MBA; not required but desired
  • Expertise in Excel and excel based financial planning and capital models. 
  • Must have the ability to build and /or modify complex spreadsheets.
