Farm & Ranch Underwriter

We are a Property & Casualty Managing General Agency writing 120+ million in annual premium seeking a Farm & Ranch Underwriter to assist in all aspects of underwriting and rating new and renewal Farm, Ranch, and Auto risks. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Service new business accounts based on a defined set of underwriting guidelines.
• Develop relationships with independent agents by negotiating coverage terms and premiums.
• Assist independent agents with renewal and new business quotes.
• Develop rapport with company underwriters.
• Assist the department in meeting monthly production goals.
• Train agents on products, underwriting appetite systems and submission requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School, Professional designations a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years Commercial or Personal Lines underwriting experience in Company, MGA or Agency environment.
• Self-directed, energetic and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Aptitude for critical thinking and problem resolution.
• High level of computer proficiency with experience on insurance company systems. A background with ImageRight a plus but not required.
• Friendly, upbeat personality with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Inherent desire to embrace change and pursue continuous improvement.
• Team player with collaborative attitude.
