General Description: This individual will support all of our current and future states in all product lines of insurance by performing rate reviews, preparation of rate filings, performing actuarial studies as assigned, and responding to inquiries from regulatory departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Performs various actuarial analyses and projects, including but not limited to quarterly rate adequacy reviews, annual state rate filing reviews and quarterly reserve reviews including monthly updates.

•Prepares rate filings for current and expansion into other states and lines of insurance.

•Provides data in support of actuarial, product, and underwriting initiatives.

•Assists in various aspects of data manipulation, analysis, and automation, including but not limited to data cleansing and automated reporting.

•Assists in preparation of rules and rate manuals.

•Assists in competitor analysis for rating plans, rates, products and forms.

•Interacts as needed with relevant regulatory authorities on filings.

•Performs other duties as requested. Education and Experience:

•A Bachelor’s degree in related field.

•3 or more years of relevant actuarial experience, homeowners experience desired.

•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

•Effective presentation skills.

•Work extremely well independently.

•Must possess strong work ethic and be a “team player”.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word are required. Proficiency in Access is desired.

•Strong data and programming experience in an insurance environment is desired.

•Proficient knowledge of SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar database languages is desired.

•Proficient knowledge of R, Python, VBA, or similar programming languages is desired. Licenses and/or Certifications: Successful completion of at least four (4) actuarial exams.
