Underwriting Administrative Assistant

Our client is seeking an Underwriting Administrative Assistant to join their underwriting team in Dallas, Texas.

The Underwriting Administrative Assistant should be able to provide support to the underwriting department. They should have excellent computer skills, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with an emphasis on Excel. The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of commercial insurance experience. The Underwriting Administrative Assistant must be motivated and able to work in a team environment.

A strong demonstration of the following skills and abilities is required:

  • Manage submission process including policy database
  • Analyze submissions for completion
  • Analyze loss runs and create loss summary
  • Comply with reinsurance/excess referral guidelines
  • Assist with policy issuance process
  • Develop and maintain filing system
  • Maintain open line of communication with brokers and agents
  • Provide general support to Underwriting Director

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3-5 years insurance experience

Competencies/Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
