Allstate Business Insurance - Shared Economy Insurance

The Sharing Economy is a rapidly growing, complex and dynamic marketplace. Allstate Business Insurance has taken a leadership position in the Shared Economy and is devoting significant resources to further expand products, capabilities and customers. Our team has successfully executed rapid expansion into rideshare and vehicle-share companies, and we are developing insurance and technology solutions for new customers across auto, home / office, and gig-service models.

Allstate Business Insurance is a ~$650 million operation, poised to be a top 10 Commercial Auto insurer by 2020, and is backed by the resources and strategic vision of Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL).

The Business Development Director is responsible for increasing Allstates share of the quickly expanding shared economy market opportunity by generating profitable growth and increased market share by identifying, pursuing and establishing relationships with organizations in the Shared Economy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies prospects, establish relationships, cultivate opportunities for sale of Allstate and subsidiaries products and services to the Shared Economy businesses.
  • Champions new ideas and initiatives; identifies and actualizes new business opportunities; fosters innovation and calculated risk taking.
  • Presents business opportunities and influences others to take recommended actions.
  • Strategically builds and fosters relationships across functions and subsidiaries.
  • Communicates key strategies and initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with senior company officers at both Allstate and Shared Economy companies.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 12 or more years of related experience
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience; May also have advanced degree

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None

Functional Skills

  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Experience partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of business unit strategies
  • Outstanding consultative abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners
  • Strong business knowledge and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop effective internal relationships across business functions and subsidiaries in order to offer solutions to clients
