Claims Manager - Workers Compensation | Tampa, FL

Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a Workers Compensation Claims Manager with our client in their Tampa, FL location. As a manager of our client’s claims team, you will be responsible for overseeing claims team members and their daily operations, including performance and development. Utilizing your knowledge of workers compensation and supervision to oversee a team that independently investigates, evaluates and resolves assigned claims in order to achieve appropriate outcomes.

Workers Compensation Claims Manager Responsibilities

• Supervise a unit comprised of claims examiners that handle claims with varying degrees of complexity
• Directs policies and procedures to ensure claims handling is consistent with company’s best practices, in addition to all legal and regulatory requirements
• Maintain an efficient claims staff to handle all claims promptly and fairly
• Provide guidance with claim negotiations and extend settlement authority to claims examiners, as necessary
• Develop and train direct reports to optimize individual growth, development and success
• Provide supervisors and employees with performance objectives, and monitor their progress during the year by reviewing timeliness of first contacts and closings, productivity, and quality
• Monitors staff production and performance in order to meet corporate performance goals; provides ongoing coaching and feedback to staff
• Monitor compliance with state fair claims practices acts

Experience

• 5+ years of Workers' Compensation Claims experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory/managerial role

Education

• High school diploma required
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
