Columbia Insurance Group is the place to be!  Join our team as the Analysis Services Supervisor.  

In this role you will plan, coordinate and manage staff in the development, enhancement, implementation and support of the Company’s systems. This position works at our Columbia, MO office.

Characteristic Duties

  • Train, coach, guide and mentor assigned staff. 
  • Lead analysts in the planning, designing, development, testing and implementation of enhancements to our current systems and with the implementation of new system applications.
  • Serve as key liaison between business partners and analyst team. 
  • Manage business request/needs resulting from requests and overseeing the activities resulting from those assignments.
  • Deliver recommendations or alternatives that address existing and potential problem areas in IT and the Company’s operational systems.
  • Perform ROI and cost benefit analyses for proposed solutions to requested system changes.
  • Lead the continued development of testing procedures and manage the usage of those procedures, ensuring those procedures are maintained, accurate and incorporated into the project efforts.
  • Responsible for testing deliverables prior to release to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Facilitate discussions between business partners and auditors to ensure the testing of our projects meets compliance and business specifications.
  • Promote quality and continuous system performance improvement throughout CIG.
  • Enforce Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in an IT environment. 
  • Understand Agile/Scrum processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them, plus leverage techniques to provide value to a team/organization.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a matrix team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills including listening skills, problem-solving skills, confidence, patience, politeness, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to deal with difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, manage and leverage relationships with internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP and/or other industry certifications in Project Management.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in leading teams involved in agile project work.
  • Experience in the Commercial P&C Insurance industry.
  • Strong presentation skills.
