Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of company databases and guarantee that data is stored securely and optimally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Work with other IT staff and vendors to ensure minimal downtime from all IT systems
• Monitor all Databases (Oracle and SQL Server) in the LIMS/ELN portfolio
• Implement database schema, tables, procedures and permissions, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
• Database installation, configuration, indexing, monitoring
• Perform on-going review of database environment to management growth
• Coordinates with other departments to anticipate service needs in relation to the database infrastructure
• Analyze and tune database instances for optimal efficiency
• Restore and recover corrupted databases
• Install and test upgrades and patches
• Provide 24/7/365 support
• Capacity monitoring and planning
• Troubleshoot and diagnose production problems
• Effectively meet deadlines, properly utilizing resources and establishing priorities
• Assist in maintenance/upgrades of claim system with vendor support
• Perform server maintenance, provisioning
• Utilize queries to extract and report data-ensure integrity of reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

Education / Licensing:

• Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of DBA experience in Oracle environment
• SQL Server DBA experience is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have a go-getter, driven mindset. Candidates must take initiative and work autonomously
• Exceptional customer service orientation
• Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities

Technical skills:

• Advance level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information
• Linux, Oracle, MS SQL, JBoss, WildFly, AWS or Cloud experience
• AWS RDS is a plus
