The Financial Analyst will be a utility player for the finance group, supporting reporting and analysis. We're looking for a driven, enthusiastic self-starter who has strong attention to detail and excels in analyzing financial and operational data. The right candidate will have a strong track record of creating and maintaining customized, complex reports and models in conjunction with strong Excel and SQL capabilities to provide the information necessary for regulatory and operational reporting.
Basic Function:
Responsible for efficiently providing management information and financial analysis to evaluate and communicate results and trends of the company's business. The position will be responsible for generating data reports from policy administration and claim systems, analyzing data for accuracy, and integrating the information in summary form to the general ledger software. This person ensures all financial transactions from various systems are accurately compiled for entry into the general ledger. This person will work closely with the Accounting and IT departments, daily, to troubleshoot system errors impacting accounting information.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and produce key complex financial reports and metrics using information from various reporting systems
- Serve as a business side administrator of financial planning and reporting systems
- Responsible for extracting data and creating reports that are accurate, efficient and easily updated by the user
- Develop and implementing financial databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize financial reporting efficiency and quality
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Financial or Operational analysis
- Strong Excel capabilities
- Experience in developing and executing SQL Queries
- Experience with SQL Reporting Services or Power BI preferred
- Proactive, strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to complete projects timely and accurately
- Desire and ability to work with cross-functional teams, discuss complex accounting and finance subjects with non-financial personnel
Education: BA in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or related area
Experience: Prefer experience within the property & casualty insurance industry
