We have an opening for a Vice President, Payer Sales within the Axia Strategies Practice in the Savage, MN office. For more than two decades, Axia Strategies has extended a wide continuum of proven and innovative healthcare cost control solutions and deliverables to the country’s health plans, TPAs, federal groups, labor unions and large employer markets. At Axia Strategies our objective is clear: to identify the costs, inefficiencies and opportunities within the entire continuum of healthcare to provide clients with unique, immediate and effective solutions.
Axia Strategies is seeking to add the expertise of a Vice President of Payer Sales to our current experienced Sales Executive team. The selected candidate will be responsible for prospecting and penetrating the healthcare payer marketplace. In this role, a high emphasis will be placed on a consultative selling skills approach to increase the market presence of Axia’s portfolio of solutions. Our team will further rely on you for building and expanding upon your existing relationships in the payer market with key decision makers. Position reports to an Axia Principal.
Essential Duties:
- Produce a strong national database of health payer client relationships
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge within the healthcare industry with a strong preference of pharmacy benefit management knowledge, a cornerstone practice area of our firm
- Take a strategic and proactive approach with an existing relationship portfolio and be entrepreneurial with a proven track record in acquiring new business and growth within existing relationships
- Drive active relationships, selling across consulting, sales, senior management, external vendors/partners, third party advisors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Business degree including, but not limited to Risk Management, Finance, Accounting and Marketing
- Proven history of building strategic relationships, selling and closing opportunities including the ability to sell to senior leaders within the payer space at the C-suite level
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the sales process; principles and methods of selling products, services and value propositions, sales marketing strategies and tactics, etc.
- Possess strong preference for compensation tied to results
- Ability and willingness to work in a team-selling environment
- Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment where initiative and self-motivation are required
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strategic planning experience and proven negotiation skills
- Strong technical background and proficient computer skills – Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Project Planning
- Proficient critical thinking skills
- Ability to travel, including overnight, as needed for client meetings/functions
