Job Description:
In this role you will accurately and timely enter workers’ compensation First Reports of Injury, for our Absentia division, into our case management solution. You will conduct an initial triage of case information and gather additional information; which may include phone calls to clients, injured employees and employers; to help identify cases for further review and next steps by an Intake Specialist or Nurse Case Manager. This position provides support to the nurse case management team by creating and sending letters and forwarding case information to claim parties. Consistently provides superior services to all clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enters all First Report of Injury information into case management solution and other solutions as needed
- Conducts an initial triage of the case which includes a review of the documents submitted by the client.
- May make phone calls to the injured employee, employer, and/or carrier to obtain additional information; and/or review of claim notes and documents from the carrier or employer’s claim system.
- In accordance with best practices and guidelines uses best judgement in referring cases to the Intake Specialist or Nurse Case Management team for additional clinical review and next steps.
- Provides support to the Nurse Case Management team by completing various tasks which may include but are not limited to: sending letters to injured employees, clients, providers; requesting medical records; forwarding case information to all parties of the claim.
- Catalogs images into the case management solution.
- Actively participates in team functions, collaborate on projects, and participate in the development of and/or design of elements in areas of change.

Minimum Experience/Education:
- Education: High School Diploma required, Basic medical training and certification i.e. Medical Assistant, EMT, first responder, medical assistant, medical laboratory technician preferred.
- Experience: One year experience in insurance, workers’ compensation or similar field preferred.

Professional oral and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position. All claims service must be handled with tact, diplomacy and courtesy at all times. Demonstrates a strong sense of empathy and ability to connect and relate well with others.
Must be able to collaborate and develop strong team relationships with associates from within and outside the Absentia Solutions team.
