We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Claims Manager, located in our Workers’ Compensation department in our San Jose office.

The Claims Manager manages claims operations and provides direction and leadership to staff. In doing so, this person is responsible for service to customers, adhering to DSIP regulations and Insured Program guidelines. This person owns responsibility for department results.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Client retention/satisfaction with specific emphasize on assigned Healthcare customers • DWC Audit Unit results within established parameters • Internal workflow success • Evaluation/Recognizing office staffing needs • Training to department on labor code/legislation/case law • Update staff on insured/self-insured procedures • Prevention of penalties/maintenance of logs • Timely Excess claims reporting management to the Reinsurance Manager • Overseeing the department supervisory staff and other designated personnel

Essential Skills and Knowledge: Requires SIP and at least five (5) years as WC Claims Manager experience. Must be an effective communicator, both orally and written, and effective at leading a fast paced, customer focused, dynamic team. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must be available for travel within designated territory and other areas as required by Management
