Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our Marietta, Pennsylvania office.

About the role:

The Mainframe Systems Programmer will be responsible for supporting the IBM Mainframe system including z/OS operating system and related software and subsystems along with supporting third party vendor software utilities and packages. The ideal Candidate must be highly proficient with all aspects of the z/OS operating system as well as administration and support of SMPE, TSO, VSAM file management, JCL, CICS, TCP/IP. Candidate must also have strong written and oral communication skills and will often be a direct liaison with other IS development and infrastructure teams.

Other preferred skills and experience include:

  • Working knowledge of IBM hardware systems including storage, Z Series, VTS and tape libraries
  • Working knowledge of mainframe storage replication such as VTS Grid and Global Mirror
  • Working knowledge of CA and Compuware mainframe related software
  • Working knowledge of modern scheduling and workflow automation systems
  • Working knowledge of DFSMS and DFHSM
  • Working knowledge of RACF Security
  • Ability to work in both individual and group settings
  • Some off-hour work required to support software implementations, upgrades and/or general maintenance
