Newly created Underwriting Leadership role with leading independent managing general underwriter with experience in more than 15 lines of insurance in the U.S. and abroad. This MGU is managing in excess of $2.3 billion of travel and specialty insurance revenue primarily in products involving Travel, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty insurance benefits.
As the Special Risk Underwriting Manager, you will manage a team of underwriters to ensure that all programs (new and renewal) are handled to achieve both profit and growth objectives.
The essential functions of this key role include:
- Presale Underwriting; Renewal Underwriting; Problem Solving & Decision Making; Presentation & Persuasion; Documentation of Terms; Compliance and Reporting.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we seek:
- Expert level understanding of underwriting and risk mitigation principles within special risk. This may include; travel accident, business travel accident, accident protection, international health and so on.
- Demonstrated leadership experience of an underwriting team.
