Avalon Risk Management, an international trade-related insurance broker, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit to support our National Account sales and customer service team in our Elk Grove Village office. This full time position will work from our national headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
We are looking for candidates with at least 2 years’ customer service experience in an office environment (not retail) or other professional experience related to commercial insurance or the logistics industry. All candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position will require a strong work ethic, close attention to detail, and flexibility. To succeed in this position, you must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work with a team or independently, and excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft Word and Excel. This position requires candidates to have an active IL Property & Casualty license.
Some of the responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Support our Account Managers and Account Executives and assist in servicing our existing clients and helping with efforts to obtain new clients.
- Assist with marketing submissions, giving shipment-specific insurance quotations, preparing proposals.
- Mail policy & support packets, answering policy questions, updating account changes, assist with premium collections, fielding phone calls, and more.
- Filing, faxing, and scanning will be part of daily responsibilities along with customer service and entering policy information in appropriate systems.
Candidates will provide support to our sales staff, and they will also get the opportunity to cross-sell and further develop the client relationship. This role will expose you to our clients, the importing/exporting industry, and the various international and domestic programs we manage.
