POLICY SERVICE ASSISTANT

POSITION PURPOSE Provides policy service and support for an insurance book of business by performing a variety of functions as outlined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Policy Services Assistant will be trained on the duties outlined below, and be proficient in each. Duties will be assigned from all Broker/Underwriter teams, and will be clearly defined but periodically reviewed and adjusted as needed.

  • Policy Issuance
  • Inspections
  • Money Bearing Endorsement including cancellations
  • Non-Bearing Money Endorsements
  • Ordering Loss Runs 
  • Audits 
  • Motor Vehicle Records
  • Miscellaneous Items

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
