Vice President of Claims Strategy

General Placement Service is exclusively working with a nationally recognized insurance carrier specializing in the insuring of healthcare organizations ranging from doctor’s offices to hospitals and many other providers in-between.  They are a recognized thought leader in the space in terms of innovative coverages and specialized claims and risk management strategies.

My client is currently seeking a Vice President to manage the companies’ strategic initiatives in their claims department.  This role will report to the SVP of Claims and be tasked with setting the strategy for the unit to "change the way" we handle and process claims.  You will be the SVP's right hand team member.  The VP will manage claims leadership who will in turn manage the individual claims adjusters within the company.  This is multiple lines of coverage and adjusters who handle more than just one line.  There is also an aspect of vendor management as they currently utilize a third party to handle their workers compensation claims.  

My client does not want someone who wants to keep holding on to traditions for the sake of holding on.  They are looking for a strategic leader who is going to bring new ideas and concepts into the claims management space and also lead a team that generates new and creative ideas that will essentially reinvent the way things have been done for 50 years.  The expectation is innovation. 

To be qualified a candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in claims handling with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.  Multi-line experience is a must with particular exposure to Medical Professional Liability.
