Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a Licensing Specialist to join our Marietta, Pennsylvania office.

About the role:

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for maintaining records, compiling information, and submitting the necessary forms in order to keep agencies and producers licensed. In addition, they are responsible for ensuring the timely submission of material to state agencies in order to guarantee licenses and license renewals.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • To license, appoint, and terminate agencies and producers in an assigned group of states
  • To assist with licensing, appointing, and terminations in other states as needed
  • To complete licensing, appointing, and termination tasks in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicate with and obtain necessary information from RVPs, TSMs, and agency personnel in a professional, accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure duties are performed in adherence to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
  • Remain current on industry rules and regulations and be able to provide updates to regional offices with regards to changes relevant to their states of operation.
  • Comply with guidelines, policies, and directives outlined in the company handbook and department manuals
  • Provide timely, courteous, and quality customer service
  • Clearly demonstrate commitment and participation to team goals and objectives
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

 

Additional Job Functions:

  • Obtain resident producer license in within first year of employment
  • Obtain AINS designation within second year of employment
  • Obtaining other designations is encouraged
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements to ensure high quality service
  • Accurately communicate information to internal and/or external customers
  • Provide timely, courteous, and quality assistance to other departments as needed
  • Pro-actively coordinate work with others in support of department and company goals and objectives
  • Willingly work required overtime to meet established goals OR This is a professional level position and the employee may need to work additional hours as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous work experience in a highly regulated environment and or industry.

Education:

  • Associates Degree with a background in insurance or related industry experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
