Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Product Manager to support our underwriting team.  We would prefer to have someone that can be located in our Farmington Hills, Michigan headquarters, but are open to other locations for the right person. This is a working manager role for the organization. The ideal candidate will possess the following skill set.  

Summary Statement

Lead the product team in the planning, development and maintenance of Amerisures product portfolio in support of enhancing Amerisures expertise in target markets.   Oversee the research and response to key trends, regulatory adjustments, environmental forces and market needs. Track and report product performance to key stakeholders. Lead or direct projects to bring recommendations to execution.  Proactively manage relationships with internal and external partners.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties
  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Supports the development and execution of Amerisures product strategy.
  • Leads the review and analysis of intelligence, bureau programs, ISO and/or AAIS circulars as it pertains to new and existing products or coverages including the Rules and Forms to convey the developed concepts.
  • Direct the evaluation of Amerisures product portfolio against the competitive landscape and target market needs to determine potential product enhancements and retirements.
  • Recommend the business case for potential product solutions.  Oversees the execution of approved business cases.
  • Maintains a complete product map of all Amerisure products to evaluate and address product interactions.
  • Monitor and reports performance of product portfolio.
  • Develop and manage positive relationships with internal and external partners to achieve mutual success.
  • Represent Amerisures interests through industry forums and interactions with regulatory agencies.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 10 years demonstrated coverage analysis experience.
  • 5 years management experience in Commercial, Property and Casualty Lines in a product management or similar role preferred.
  • CPCU certification preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lead discussions, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience.
