Regional Broker Development and Marketing Representative - Contract Poultry Growers National Commercial Program

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient with modern technology
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited brick-and-mortar 4 year college or university
  • 5 years of farm or commercial Property and Casualty insurance experience, with an emphasis on Property exposures
  • Very bright, fast learning, well-organized, and a high ability to deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills on the phone, with demonstrable successful history of ability to quickly build new relationships and maximize existing ones

Preferred Qualifications

  • Farm/ag insurance experience
  • 4 years of insurer or MGA marketing experience
  • One or more professional designations such as AFIS, CIC, CPCU, etc
  • Existing broker relationships in the Southeastern United States, which can be harnessed to drive company growth

Primary Duties

  • Directly responsible for growth of direct written premium; reports directly to ARU company President
  • Work primarily from home, with with some time spent at ARU headquarters in Mocksville, NC
  • Take a deep dive into the Poultry Farm insurance niche
  • Learn the the overall Poultry Farm insurance market and about various ARU competitors, on a regional and national basis
  • Master all aspects and product advantages of the Contract Poultry Growers National Commercial Program
  • Research geographic areas of potential growth for ARU, and pursue new Broker relationships in those areas
  • Provide sample quotes and web-based demonstrations of ARU’s products and online rating system and electronic policy issuance system
  • Carefully qualify and screen potential new Brokers to ensure the appropriate fit with ARU’s culture and the Broker’s ability to meet volume requirements
  • Onboard new Broker relationships, complete the contractual and licensing requirements, and set new Brokers up in the online rating system, and
  • Transition new Brokers to the ARU Underwriting team and introduce the Brokers to the ARU claims department
  • Post on-boarding, regularly followup with Brokers to ensure a long term mutually successful relationship, including the production of a healthy/growing book of business
  • Attend Poultry seminars at the National Poultry Technology Center, and take advantage of other opportunities to elevate other poultry-niche expertise
