COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER – BUFFALO, NY
Merchants Insurance Group is seeking an experienced and professional Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our Underwriting team in our Buffalo, New York Office. This position is responsible for accepting, declining or modifying offerings of commercial lines risks submitted by the regional agency plant within the authority level established by the region. Evaluates risks in accordance with corporate and regional guidelines and filings.
The ideal candidate will have a college degree or commensurate underwriting experience. Minimum 1 year in the insurance business as a property and casualty commercial lines underwriter or related insurance industry experience. Previous experience in underwriting execution and practices to administer the commercial accounts assigned. Job requires good verbal and written communication skills and must be able to work in a team environment. Excellent PC skills are required.
