Under the direction of the Claims Manager, the Senior PropertyClaims Representative is primarily responsible for investigating, evaluating, and negotiating settlement of assigned claims of various levels of complexity with the goal of serving the customer and ensuring quality file handling. 

Essential Functions ​

 Pursuant to Company business strategies and good faith claims practices:

o Investigates assigned claims of various levels of complexity

o Negotiates assigned claims of various levels of complexity

o Settles (within authorized limits) assigned claims of various levels of complexity

o Establishes and maintains positive relationships with both internal and external customers providing excellent customer service

o Ability to work independently and handle tasks with high levels of technical complexity with minimal supervision

o Routinely manages a pending workload of assigned claims with high levels of technical and complexity

​​​​Job Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Must possess strong communication and organization skills and ability to work with a personal computer. Demonstrated ability to interact with people in a professional manner, determine coverage, investigate and determine liability needed. 

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Extensive Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance

• AIC, CPCU, or other industry designation or working towards the designation preferred.

• At least five years industry experience preferred.

• Experience working with claims involving complex issues of subrogation, construction, and mitigation

• Extensive knowledge of construction techniques

• HAAG certification preferred

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex claims involving exposures over $100,000 or more.

The employee must often operate a motor vehicle to travel to a location for the purposes of scoping or evaluating a given claim.
