Ullico Inc. is actively recruiting a policy analyst.  This dynamic candidate will assist the Senior Policy Analysts in the research and review of legislation as it affects assigned insurance products. Assist Senior Policy Analysts in development of appropriate forms and/or language to comply with state and federal requirements. File appropriate forms with state insurance departments and follow-through to approval.  Coordinate dissemination of information to interested parties.

DUTIES: 

  • Assist in research and review of laws and regulations applicable to assigned insurance products.  Recommends rates and analyzes risks for new business proposals.
  • Assist in the analysis, development, preparation, submission of policy and certificate wording to comply with state and federal laws and regulations. File, with supervision, all necessary forms through manual and electronic channels with state regulators.
  • Assist in communicating status of filings and approvals to interested parties.  Communicate any state specific requirements for each product and state.
  • Track and maintain compliance resources, e.g., Approval Charts, Issue Instructions, and on line legislative tracking tool.
  • Work with Contract Analysts and Compliance Analysts to ensure all issued forms are in compliance.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree or two year equivalent.  A minimum of two to three years of related work experience with review and analysis of legislation is required.  Life and Health insurance product knowledge is preferred and a plus.  He/she must possess strong verbal, reading and writing skills including the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively across organizational levels.  Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to take numerous pieces of information, analyze them and present a coherent response is needed.  Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel is required.
