POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing Human Resources leadership and consultative support to a segment of the Hallmark Financial Services organization. The role will serve as a strategic business partner and will provide Human Resources support and services to designated business and functional groups.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The role will serve as a strategic member of the leadership teams for several business units and functional groups within Hallmark, representing the Human Resources function.
- The position will partner with Human Resources and Payroll colleagues to provide Human Resources support and services to the designated business unit and functional groups.
- Contribute to organizational strategy through partnership with HR colleagues and business leaders to proactively diagnose and identify future people-related business needs. Identify, define and implement people/ organization solutions for the client population while taking into account broader implications.
- Identify leadership and employee development requirements and partner with resources to design and deliver development solutions.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, HR colleagues and business leaders to resolve employee complaints and mitigate ongoing concerns. Assess employment policies and practices to proactively identify potential gaps and risk; recommend and drive the implementation of solutions.
- Support organization communication and change management efforts, ensuring a culture that enables employee engagement through effective information sharing across the business.
- Develop and maintain influence through ongoing development of internal/ external relationships with client population leadership and across the organization.
- Develop domain knowledge of client population businesses to include an understanding of short-term objectives & long-term strategies for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with Hallmark Financial Services policies, processes and practices. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state and local employment practices and labor laws. Role model Hallmark Financial Services ethical standards, professionalism and code of conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS [SKILLS & EXPERIENCE]
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, organizational behavior or related field. MBA or Masters in Human Resources preferred.
- 5+ years’ directly related work experience in Human Resources Generalist position
- Experience working with HR systems required and experience working with ADP Workforce Now, Payroll and HR and Benefits technology a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and data management experience.
- Strong written/ verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills; solid decision making capabilities coupled with the ability to analyze situations and provide practical recommendations. Sound judgment.
- Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, ability to prioritize conflicting demands, organize time and resources to deliver consistent results for the business and bring initiatives to successful completion.
- High degree of business acumen.
- Strong technical aptitude; advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
