Job Description

Lead Business Analyst


  • Lead a team of Business Analysts and ensure adequate staffing to complete the required analysis work.

  • Participate in status meetings and other leadership activities for the project.

  • Understand the requirement needs for the iteration including the project responsibilities.

  • Responsible for the entire requirements elicitation process.

  • Ensure sure best practices are established and followed throughout the duration of the project.

  • Influence how requirements are elicited; what documentation will be produced; and how it will be signed-off and transitioned to other project resources like Development and Quality Assurance/User Acceptance Testing (QA/UAT).

  • Understand of the level of detail that needs to be captured for development and testing.

  • Establish documentation templates to be used for the project.

  • Work closely with the other technologists and Lead QA/UATs to understand the appropriate level of detail needed by each of their teams.

  • Understand scope of project and provide estimates for requirements elicitation, documentation and review activities.

  • Understand the overall scope of the project and be able to identify when requirements are changing and ensure that project change management procedures are being used properly.

  • Delegate and plan work responsibilities among team members, serve as an ongoing coach and advisor to the team.

  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete, meets the agreed upon standards, and deadlines are being met.

  • Interact with stakeholders and participate in project meetings.

  • Understand the structure, policies and operations of an organization to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

  • Improve systems/processes by studying current practices and designing modifications.

  • Prepare process and systems, streamline alternatives and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.

  • Conduct business process/systems analysis through user story workshops or otherwise.

  • Document use cases, business/system/functional requirements, requirements traceability matrix and test cases.

  • Use Agile and SCRUM methodology to document requirements, Epics, Themes, User Stories and Personas.

  • Write User Stories acceptance criteria.

  • Support the Product Owner in validating the completion of requirements.

  • Verify user stories are delivered per acceptance criteria.

  • Mockup requirements where necessary to help Developers and business understand the requirements.

  • Serve as a SME and communication bridge between business and IT.


  • Bachelors degree in Information systems or related field;

  • Management experience and 3+ years of directly relevant experience in developing requirements and performing system analysis;

  • Experience working in Agile environment using SCRUM methodologies;

  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office software;

  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills;

  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills;

  • Ability to manage ambiguity;

  • Work as part of a team and individually.
