Aon is looking for several experienced Claims Professionals – Tier ll. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Aon National Flood Services Claims business group within Aon Affinity, in Overland Park, KS.
As a Claims Professional l – Tier ll, you will report directly to the Director Claims Examination.
Your impact as a Claims Professional l – Tier ll
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing the life of the claim and communicating with clients, vendors, insurance agents and customers. The colleague will review and analyze documentation, process claims, write letters and issue payments for property claims. In addition, this position cross-trains within the department to ensure full knowledge and ability to service all claims customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Utilizes effective communication daily
- Carefully manage the claims negotiation process with customers
- Explains coverage of loss, assists policyholders with itemization of damages
- Make decisions on coverage and perform analysis of coverage-related issues to expedite the settlement and payment of claims
- Apply appropriate reserves
- Evaluate and pay claims within designated authority level
- Claims $15K - $50K, average claim $38K
- Determine and document the potential for subrogation and refer claims for subrogation
- Incrementally increase productivity without jeopardizing quality
- Engage, monitor and manage vendors
- Work with other teams as necessary, to ensure that relevant information is shared as required and the appropriate actions are taken to meet clients’ needs
- Assist in the Litigation process of claims
- Critical decision making and dealing with large dollar amounts
- Present a professional appearance and a positive attitude
- Mandatory catastrophe (CAT) duty
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum three years of claims experience/litigation experience

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three years of claims experience/litigation experience
- Flood adjuster licensing within 6 mos of obtaining position
