Commercial Auto PD Adjuster needed to handle all aspects of file handling on approximately 150 pending feature claims. Investigate liability and coverage, negotiate settlements, utilize vendors such as independent appraisal and investigative companies. Establish reserves, fraud recognition, total loss handling and coverage issues on claims.

Job Duties

• Review auto policies, auto claim forms and other records to verify and determine insurance coverage eligibility under State Laws
• Contact insured and claimants on commercial auto losses to determine liability, damages, settlement value and subrogation potential
• Maintain a regular diary for file management along with action plan to move claim to resolution
• Conduct and manage the investigative process, ongoing communication with customer and relevant external parties
• Keep work and investigative files current and manage the accurate recording of all information required for the successful resolution of claims investigations
• Respond to phone calls, check voice mail and email regularly and respond as required
• Establish ultimate reserves (anticipated reserves to bring file to close) as soon as practical
• Investigate liability and coverage, negotiate settlements, and use vendors such as independent appraisal and investigative companies.
• Assign appraisers and resolve property damage and physical damage claims, including total losses
• Manage the appraisal process: work with appraisers, as required, to determine and communicate damages and establish repair/damage estimates in the resolving of property damage claims

Skill and Knowledge Requirements

• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information
• Proven negotiation skills for heavy work with attorneys and arbitration on first and third party claims
• Work independently
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. (Microsoft Office Platform including MS Word/7, Excel and Outlook)

Education, License and Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of auto physical damage experience required
• Current Florida adjuster license required
• Multi-state adjuster license preferred
• High School Diploma / GED required
• College degree preferred / Bachelor’s Degree preferred
