Brokerage Claims Director – Chicago, IL

Recognized and growing Property and Casualty Insurance broker is seeking a Director of Claims for their Chicago office. Candidates will be responsible for overall management of the claims operation in a boutique national accounts brokerage operation.  This position works directly with senior management and requires plenty of client facing time.  TPA oversight and working closely with client risk managers are the key points for this opportunity. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.  Candidates must have a strong claims background on the brokerage side.

Specific job duties and responsibilities include:

• Technical resource for claims matters to broker staff and clients
• Laisse between client, TPAs and carriers to insure best claims service to clients
• Manage vendor relations to develop optimum case outcomes, cost performance, and measurement criteria.
• Coordinate claims reviews with clients and providers.
• Establish, refine and evolve best-in-class claim management program operating characteristics, measurement criteria, and meaningful metrics benchmarking.
• Provide advice and oversight into claim disposition strategies, workers compensation statutes, managed care techniques, and tort law.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree highly preferred
• 5+ years of experience in commercial lines claims. Brokerage and carrier experience a plus.
• Experience using an agency management software. Applied TAM a plus.
• Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel. Proficient Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
