Job Purpose

Works with business units to automate internal processes. Develops written specifications for technology partners based on user needs. Evaluates and tests software programs to verify that systems function in accordance with specifications and standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reviews rate filing documents and verifies rate calculation formulas and orders in Excel.
  • Develops and maintains various automation scripts using Selenium and VBA for testing as well as general system updates.
  • Designs and executes test plans, test results, analysis, and unresolved problems.
  • Reviews internal audit results to detect possible errors in rating or document programming
  • Analyzes and identifies trends in data using business intelligence tools.
  • Assists and provides recommendations to business users.
  • Uses JIRA effectively to track issues.
  • Researches various vendor integrations and helps in drafting plans and testing third-party data integrations.
  • Participates in business requirements gathering, testing, support, or some combination thereof as new products and system functions are added.
  • Develops and writes technical specifications for the programming team based on business users needs and system functionality.
  • Trains new members of the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, risk management, related field OR equivalent work experience required.
  • Two years of work experience with a history of high performance in P&C rating analysis, software project analysis, software quality assurance testing, or the insurance industry a plus.
  • Strong work verification and related proofreading skills.
  • Strong at follow-up.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly, pay attention to details, think through problems logically, and make appropriate decisions.
  • Possesses high-school-level English language and grammar skills. Communicates with professional decorum.
  • Ability to remain flexible and open to varied work schedule as project load changes based on company need and speed to market decisions, which may require hours beyond a standard 40-hour work week.
  • Excellent collaboration and team work skills along with ability to self-direct and work with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with testing automation tools such as Selenium and/or Quick Test Pro is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL is preferred.
  • Demonstrates integrity.
