Risk Engineering Specialist

The Risk Engineering Specialist will execute an overall inspection strategy for commercial line inspections that will include some Farm & Ranch inspections. You will assist the Technical Consultant in establishing alternative means to conduct inspections all while ensuring quality and efficiency. You will also play a key role in the continued development, enhancement and on-going management of the Risk Engineering inspection system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Closely engages with Risk Engineering & Commercial Lines leadership to assist in the development of alternative inspection processes, including virtual inspections, Robotic Processes Automation etc.
2. Identify opportunities for improvement within the overall inspection process, and work with Leadership to implement changes that will ensure maximum efficiency and quality while minimizing cost.
3. Assist Risk Engineering and Underwriting Leadership in the development of overall inspection metrics and forms as needed.
4. Work in a cooperative manner with the Commercial Lines Business Analyst in the creation and implementation of strong reporting metrics to measure the overall performance of the Personal Lines Inspection Process.
5. Work directly with the Risk Engineering Technical Director and Risk Engineering Consultant in the implementation and ongoing management of the new Risk Engineering Inspection System.
6. Provide technical expertise in regards to training and education centered around workflows, forms, and technologies within Commercial Lines as needed.
7. Work in a cooperative manner with the Risk Engineering Specialist to conduct report quality reviews in order to facilitate a high level of third party vendor data collection.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by Risk Engineering Director and/or Risk Engineering Consultant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience / Education:
1. BA/BS Insurance related area of study, professional industry designation is a plus (e.g., CPCU, ARM, CIC etc.)
2. Minimum of 5-10 years of personal insurance risk consulting/loss control experience includes 2-4 years in a strategic operational role, and/or workflow management role.

3. Some Farm & Ranch experience preferred.

Communication and Collaboration Skills:
1. Written: Excellent skills to compose and write reports, proposals, business correspondence, technical bulletins and procedure manuals in a clear and concise manner.
2. Oral: Excellent skills to extemporaneously explain complex information in an easily understandable manner to insured’s, agents, company staff.
3. Excellent listening kills in order understand the business needs of the department.

Technical Knowledge:
1. Excellent technical knowledge relating to Loss Control 360 and/or other Risk Engineering Software.
2. Excellent understanding of Personal Insurance Risk Engineering services.
3. Ability to research and identify emerging trends and technology in the Risk Engineering space.

Problem Solving:
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, decision making skills and project management skills.
