Renewal Underwriter, Personal Lines Division - Portland, OR

Hull & Company, LLC. a subsidiary of Brown & Brown, Inc., is seeking a motivated Renewal Underwriter to join our Portland, OR office. This individual will be responsible for determining acceptability of new and renewal business. Our team will rely on you to maintain the integrity of underwriting practices in dealing with procedures and carrier personnel. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure development and successful renewal of business revenue from new and existing clients
  • Obtain prospects and actively peruse and create interest by making telephone calls, writing letters or conducting personal visits
  • Work directly with underwriter/broker to place new and renewal business
  • Handle all technical support for assigned files
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 



Required Competencies:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills required
  • Requires proficiency with computers and ability to multi-task,
  • Positive and coachable attitude, exceptional telephone demeanor
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in a similar position and P&C License
