Position Summary: As a crucial part of the Executive Team, the CFO is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company including direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships, and partner compliance by performing the following duties.

Your Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Acts as key strategic leader and member of the Senior Management reporting directly to the CEO.*
- Works closely with CEO and Board to manage and monitor Enterprise capital.*
- Handles responsibility timely for all accounting cycle testing, auditing, and compliance functions.*
- Produces timely and consistently monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on both SAP, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including consolidating entities and coordinating annual audits.*
- Prepares and files premium tax returns and all statutory reporting.*
- Prepares and works with outside firm on quarterly and annual federal income tax filings.*
- Handles responsibility for management oversight of reinsurance accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.*
- Creates, support, and maintains investment guidelines for the organization.*
- Maintains a leadership role in management of regulatory, rating agency, and Board of Directors reporting and communication functions.*
- Confers with board members, organization officials, and staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems. *
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages Accounting Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, training and evaluation of these units. *
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. *
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. *

Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required – from a 4 year college or university
- 15 years experience in finance/accounting for the insurance industry; preferably in P&C
- Certified Public Accountant and/or Masters of Business Administration preferred
Required Skills:
- Excellent proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.) and Access. Knowledge of other Microsoft programs a plus.
- Ability to develop, management and motivate an effective team.
- Must have strong planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of business processes to improve business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to all levels; entry level employee to Board Members.
- Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas.
- Ability to act with Integrity.
