Brown & Brown of Florida, Inc.-Pinellas Division is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, drive, and commitment to join our team as Customer Service Representative in our Commercial Insurance Lines Division.  The hired professional will provide support to Sales Producers and Account Executives in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing commercial lines accounts by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Account Executive in obtaining information from the client for new and renewal policies, updates applications and policy detail.
  • Rates, quotes, and issues policies as required.
  • Reviews new and renewal policies for accuracy for delivery to the insured and updates detail in computer.
  • Reviews endorsements for accuracy and forwards to the customer.
  • Prepares change requests to the company requesting policy changes, and updates Applied accordingly.
  • Keeps suspense (activity) items current.
  • Prepares proposals for renewal on smaller accounts
  • Issues Binders.
  • Issues Certificates of Insurance and Auto ID cards, as needed.
  • Issues Summaries of Insurance.
  • Prepares Invoices.
  • Enters policy detail on accounts not yet entered.
  • Processes mail.
  • Prepares finance contracts.
  • Prepares accounts for marketing and markets accounts per instructions from Account Executive or Producer.
  • Keeps abreast of industry changes and trends.
  • Talks with customers by phone or in person inside agency office.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as required in the Account Executive’s absence (telephone calls, producer calls, client requests, etc.)
  • Orders MVRs and orders workers compensation checks.
  • Participates in seminars and classes for knowledge and skill development.
  • Prepares Premium Loss Summaries
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Required Competencies:

  • 440 or 220 License Highly Preferred, or will be required to achieve once employed.
  • Strong technical insurance knowledge and background.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills under stressful situations.
  • Strong team member who proactively assists all other members of this team.
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner at all times.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
  • Advanced time management and organization skills
