Job Overview
Underwriting Assistant - Dallas, TX
Hull & Company, LLC is seeking motivated individual to join our team in the Dallas, TX office. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing insurance applications to evaluate, classify and rate individuals and groups for insurance. This includes accepting or rejecting new and renewal applications for Property and Casualty types of coverage. Our team will further rely on you to service and maintain accounts before, during and after binding.
Responsibilities:
- Packages and markets applications to various carriers to obtain quotes
- Negotiates prices, commissions, and/or coverages with carriers
- Reviews policies, identifies deficiencies and determines appropriate level of coverage
- Manages renewal process for expiring policies
- Gathers information for applications
- Prepares quotes and proposals for retail agents
- Researches requests for information from retail agents
- Composes correspondence to agent and/or company underwriters
- Discusses and assists in setting renewal and/or new business marketing with Broker
- Inputs applications and creates letters, and other forms of correspondence
- Binds insurance coverage and prepares insurance binders
- Engages in optimal and appropriate usage of company management systems
- Requests loss runs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Competencies:
- Active P&C license
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Good problem solving and time management skills
- Intermediate typing skills (30-35 wpm)
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to mulit-task
