Job Overview
Accountant - Daytona Beach, FL
The Corporate Accounting Department at Brown & Brown, Inc. is looking for an Accountant that wants to be part of defining the future, as we have several transformational initiatives underway, while also continuing a 75 year old tradition of excellence. This individual will be a critical member of the Corporate Accounting Department team, where we partner with our business leaders to provide critical analysis and insight that helps to shape the business. The successful candidate will own a variety of accounting activities relating to both the financial operations of the Corporate Office and the analysis of information provided by Brown & Brown’s profit centers.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain models/schedules and analyze the results
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for internal use as well as for SEC reporting
- Conduct necessary account analysis and research
- Assist in the preparation of budgets
- Prepare recurring and non-recurring general ledger journal entries
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations
- Perform special projects as requested
- Interaction with senior leaders in the business to discuss your analysis
Required Competencies:
- Desire to be a significant contributor to a successful team
- Four-year accounting degree required, CPA preferred
- Recent college grads welcome, 2-3 years’ experience preferred
- Experience with Excel
